Schizophrenia

Someone said that most people have 2 different opposite personalities, one is good, the other is evil.

i believe every human being is created in the image of God, but once is born in the earth, s/he is continuously impacted by the values of the corrupted world. Although our conscience continuously tell us what is right and what is wrong, constant bombardment of the world's values would easily shape the evil values, such as, money is everything; everyone is exploiting from others; strong countries are exploiting from weak countries, ..., etc, especially at the test of these things. Eventually, 2 different voices come out in the body, one may overcome the others. Long term impact may become schizophrenia!

Do not be modelled by the world's values. Plead our God Jesus Christ to cure our wounds, console our souls, and cleanse our minds.

Yoke

Last night i had a dinner with a group of friends for one of them came back to Hong Kong since 2003. We are university schoolmates, all men, and have been working for about 10 years. i haven't seen some of them for about 5 years. Some of them getting older out of my expectation. i am a bit surprise of the great changes on them. Although one of them said that he is young in mind, but i saw the opposite that their yoke are heavily loaded through their face and their sayings.

i also became a father last year and are of similar age of them, i discovered what made the difference is the belief in God Jesus Christ and i am blessed to have a group of religious friends who constantly have praise and worship to God. Because of the praise, God cleanse my heart and mind fully loaded and occupied by the worldly affairs, so that i am free.

Taste and See God is Good

Yesterday about the second reading of Sunday mass, a prophet asked God to end his life for he was unable to ensure the hunting by his enemy. God sent angels to bring him food and water, he took them and slept. A second time angel woke him up to eat and drink. Because of these food, he regained his strength and walked 40 days and nights until reached a mountain to contact with God.

Father Ng said that the prophet was not going to suicide, but pleading God for help. Because at that time no one could help him but God. God offered him the most needed things and brought him to a new horizon - to see God.

Yes, if we pleaded God for our positive needs with our whole hearts, we would taste and see what God would be done to us poor wretches, and we would be amazed how good and wonderful God is.

Lessons

Recently 2 Indian staff arrived to sit at the opposite of my desk. One of them got a fever during office hours one day, was unable to work and felt helpless. His family is still in India, he was sent to Hong Kong alone by an Indian software company. Even he is living with another Indian and having some other Indian colleagues, but not family members who can take care about him at the time of needs like sickness.

The other day his fever was gone and he told me that his wife has asked him not to go abroad but stay in India together. However at that time, he wanted to earn more money and insisted to leave. Now he told me that he got a lesson. There is no point to leave the country for money. Money is nothing when one got illness or risk in life because of getting money.

Yes, Jesus has said that If one got the whole world but lost the soul, what does s/he get?!

Prayer Works

Yesterday a client reported a urgent serious production issue of missing data. We put on a lot of investigation effort for over 3 hours but still cannot solve it. i have tried to ask God to let us know the root-cause and no clues for another half an hour since then. However, i felt my mind was set free and relaxed and had a brief in mind that it must not be problem with the Oracle database, but something about database objects.

Before i left the office to buy some food for our dinner, i checked further about objects owned by different owners, still unsolved... At the time when i bought our dinner, this brief was still strongly hung around my mind. i rushed to office to tell my colleagues about this and they taunted the issue was still there! At that point in time we had looked into every possible area that we identified and it was really no further direction. But my mind was light to fly and had an idea for investigation, and i did find the root-cause...

i had heard many people talking about their experience of witnessing God's work, God's help and God's miracles, but may have suspicious thought if problem were solved by their effort eventually, by the change of climate, ..., etc. This time is really realistic, i can feel the way of working and thinking without pressure and burden, regardless to the colleagues near me and those in London, New York were very serious and very worrying about missing further service level agreement (SLA), would harm the relationship with the client, senior management was looking at this issue, ..., etc. Prayer works, thanks God Who answered my prayer.

Ask, Seek and Knock

During the lifetime, everyone has to face many difficulties, some of them are physical, some mental; some related to schools or companies, some related to family. And many of them are out of our control. All we can do is to ask, seek and knock the door of Jesus Christ. Never give up, persevere to pray. Then one day, you would find that your request was answered.

For a long time difficulties, mind and spirit would be tortured to such a state that it is hard to endure anymore. It is easy to fall to the state to blame people and/or God. Nevertheless, do not give up to do good and escape from bad, try hard to keep a vivid mind and spirit. Finally, perseverance will produce fruits.

Jesus has said that even a bad judge would finally action a persevering request of a woman, our Heavenly Father will definitely listen and help those in real need.

Give What You Thought

Last week, i noticed that there will be first-day envelope of "Dress Bear Up" children stamps issued on Mar 30 2006 (that is, today), and initially i would like to own one but gave up for the reason that 1) my father-in-law has subscribed a yearly stamps issued by local post office, 2) seems unable to queue up in Central Post Office in the early morning to get one on that day.

i was fully unware of today is the issue day, however, during the lunch time, one colleague rushed to local post branch and successfully bought first-day envelopes and accessories to her 2 daughters. This triggered me to think again to buy one myself, and eventually i rushed to the post branch and bought one, at that time only a few people there.

Last few months, i saw an ad with Chinese slogan "Give What You Thought". In Chinese words it is more interesting because the sound for "give" and "think" can be the same, so the slogan is nice. Today's event let me think that God give what we thought to be good for us. In Bible, it describes God look after all creatures, even the falling down of a little sparrow happens only when God allowed, why we human is too worry about everything on earth.
